To place a bid, contact Irvin Gelb at [email protected]   100% OF SILENT AUCTION PROCEEDS TO BENEFIT GREG’S CHARITY: Greg’s family recently decided to sell his Los Angeles home and personal effects with 100% of the proceeds going to benefit of their Team Plitt (a 501 c corp.) charity that they created to honor the legacy of Greg’s life mission. Team Plitt helps children and young adults transform their lives by providing leadership, character-building and motivational tools, along with proper nutrition and fitness methods, enabling them to achieve strong self-esteem, resulting in overall wellness, social and academic success.   This is the first and only time that Greg’s personal effects are being offered to the public.   SILENT AUCTION PROCEDURE: Being offered as a silent auction, the amounts indicated for each item is the starting minimum bid. The auction ends Friday, 17 April at 7:00 pm Pacific Standard Time. Please send your offers ASAP to [email protected]. If you place an offer for one or more items I will updated you on a daily basis of further activity for those items giving you a chance to increase your bid. On the 17th morning I will advise all bidders for the individual items of the current highest bid for their items of interest. Bidding will end for each item when there are no more bids and the highest bid will be the winner.   PAYMENT & SHIPMENT: A few items of large size will only be offered for local pickup and will be indicated below. The rest will be packed and shipped by a local UPS Store. The winner of the item will be contacted by them to arrange the shipping after confirmed payment to the Team Plitt charity. If you are not local and wish to arrange for a shipper to pick up large items like the below Item 18. you are welcome to do so.   A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY & PROVENANCE to be signed by Greg’s parents will be provided with each item (see below example). I will be authenticating any signed items as a UACC authorized authenticator. If you wish to also have my CofA for those signed items please request it at the end of the auction.

SALE OF GREG’S LAST HOME: If anyone is interested in considering purchasing Greg’s home in Los Angeles please advise me and I will put you in direct contact with the realtor. Original oil painting created by attendees of Greg’s 30th birthday celebration on 3 November 2007 (see last image). This piece includes Greg’s hand print on top right corner and contributions that relate to his life. Was displayed in Greg’s Los Angeles home since its creation. Unframed canvas approx. 58″ x 28″ excellent vintage condition.

Item 2. ANDY WARHOL ORIGINAL HAND SIGNED JANUARY 1980 INTERVIEW MAGAZINE COVER WITH FRED DRYER – Starting Bid: $500.00

Andy Warhol original authentic hand signed cover of the January 1980 cover of his Interview magazine with Fred Dryer on the cover. Displayed in a plexiglass frame. Greg was a high end Andy Warhol collector and a die-hard football fan. (Upon request, I can provide my Certificate of Authenticity as a certified UACC autograph authenticator for this piece.) approx. 17″ x 11″ excellent vintage condition.

Item 3. GREG HAND-PAINTED TRIBUTE TO HIS PIT BULL “QUEST” ON EMPTY DOM PERIGNON CHAMPAGNE BOTTLE – Starting Bid: $1,000.00

On 29 April 2014 one of Greg’s beloved pit bulls, Quest, passed away. Greg had a passion in him and part of that was an extremely emotional connection to his animals. He was heartbroken when Quest died (see above video link) and was known to memorialize special events or milestones by hand painting messages/images on a bottle of spirits that was used at that time. This is the bottle that Greg made for his pal Quest with heartbreaking messages throughout. Created on a 12″ tall empty bottle of Dom Perignon.

Item 4. GREG PLITT OWNED “WISH IT DREAM IT DO IT” WOODEN SIGN – CURRENT Bid: $750.00

Greg’s popularity was earned in part due to his motivational personality and this wood crafted sign is an example of how he kept on point with positive messages in his personal life. Greg displayed the signed on a wall underneath the television in his backyard patio. Approx. 26″ x 5″ in vintage lightly weathered condition.

Item 5. 2001-2002 US ARMY 503RD INFANTRY “THE ROCK” MACHINE EMBROIDERED COAT OF ARMS PRESENTED TO GREG PLITT – CURRENT Bid: $350.00

After graduating from West Point in 2000 Greg served as an Army Ranger. This is his regiment’s coat of arms which is machine embroidered in a wooden frame with a plaque memorializing his 2001 – 2002 service. It was displayed prominently in his bedroom. Approx. 17 1/2″ x 15″ in excellent vintage condition.

Item 6. BRASS PLATED DISCOBOLUS (DISCUS THROWER) – CURRENT Bid: $250.00

Greg was an avid fan of the human anatomy and sports. This extremely heavy brass plated sculpture was displayed in his living room and depicts a Greek athlete throwing the discus. There are no visible marks or artist signature on the sculpture. Approx. 12 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ (base is approx. 7 1/2″ x 5″) in excellent vintage condition.

Manhattan Beach photographer Bo Bridges original custom size giant photography print of his “Gone Fishing” image (see www.bobridgesgallery.com ) personally inscribed (“Greg, We’ve “gone fishing” on your site – Thanks for being the shark of motivation for us all – Bo Bridges”) and signed by him on lower right corner. This is a super large photograph custom encased in an acrylic presentation and was displayed in Greg’s bedroom. Approx. 72″ x 48″ in excellent vintage condition.

Item 8. SUPER BOWL XLVII (SAN FRANCISCO VS BALTIMORE) WILSON NFL FOOTBALL & GREG PLITT’S USED FULL TICKET STUB – Starting Bid: $150.00

Wilson Duke NFL official game football for Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans on Feb. 3, 2013 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome purchased in person by Greg at the game. Also included is the purple full ticket stub for this game used by Greg (only the one pictured for sale is being offered from the 3 he purchased in the photo of Greg) – excellent vintage condition.

Item 9. SUPER BOWL XLVIII (SEATTLE VS DENVER) WILSON NFL FOOTBALL & GREG PLITT’S USED FULL TICKET STUB – Starting Bid: $150.00

Wilson Duke NFL official game football for Super Bowl XLVIII in New Jersey on Feb. 2, 2014 at the Metlife Stadium purchased in person by Greg at the game. Also included is the yellow full ticket stub for this game used by Greg – excellent vintage condition.

Item 10. VINTAGE MOUNTED 3′ 8″ TEXAS LONGHORN GIFTED TO GREG BY HIS SISTER CURRENT Bid: $150.00

A mounted Texas longhorn gifted to Greg by his sister and displayed over the threshold to his bedroom door. Approx. 44″ wide – in vintage very good condition.

A commanding piece in Greg’s home is this original oil on canvas by Las Vegas artist Brad Wilkinson . A letter from the artist to Greg is included with this piece in which he talks about this being his best piece yet and why he is happy that Greg will be it’s new owner. The name of the piece is indicated as simply “Man’s Eternal Struggle” on his web site. Wilkinson is represented by esteemed art dealer Saatchi Art . Approx. 72″ x 60″ unframed in excellent condition

Item 13. GREG PLITT USED BENCHMADE 810 CONTEGO FOLDING TACTICAL KNIFE OSBORNE DESIGN AXIS LOCK CURRENT Bid: $280.00

As a former Army Ranger and avid outdoors guy Greg did not fool around when it came to his tools. This is a top-of-the-line Contego folder tactical knife with an extreme hard steel blade and glass breaker on the pommel. US made by Warren Osborne this is one of the top tactical knives in the world and was gently used by Greg – it was his favorite knife! Approx. 3.98″ blade length, 0.156″ blade thickness, 9.28″ open length, 5.30″ closed length, 0.55″ handle thickness and 5.92 oz. in weight. in very good used condition.

Golf was another passion for Greg and this set was used whenever he could make time for a round of golf. There are 15 pieces including 10 Top Flight Tour irons, 1 -Calloway putter milled face MF-1, 1 -11 degree Calloway driver, 1 -9.5 degree Titleist driver, 1 -17 degree Taylor made 3 wood and 1 -15 degree Taylor made midsize Fairway wood. Several pieces have Greg’s name wrapped around the shaft. in good used condition.

Displayed in Greg’s living room this set of 4 (one each 5, 10, 15 and 20 lb) antique early-mid 20th Century cast iron round globe style dumbbells were stacked up by Greg to display a favorite bottle of wine (bottle not included). Manufacturer unknown. in good vintage condition.

A huge high end print on canvas of Greg’s cover by Michael Neveux for Ironman Magazine July 2009 (see image of actual cover underneath the canvas print which is not included). Greg was a master craftsman – pictured in above image with his dad while creating the frame for half of this image. Due to the extremely large size the frame comes in two parts that are held in place by the canvas being wrapped around it – to store it is folded in half. This piece was prominently displayed in Greg’s pool patio! approx. 88″ x 58 1/2″ total open size (folded size is 44″ x 58 1/2″) in good vintage condition

Although only in his possession for a short period of him, other than his bed, this is the piece that Greg used most in his home! He did everything on this sofa/ottoman set. When he wasn’t in the gym or working on a film set Greg loved working on this sofa and chilling on it at night watching a film in his living room. This is a very high end RESTORATION HARDWARE set made of brown “WHISKEY” colored distressed leather – 3 piece sofa sectional and matching ottoman (see the original invoice for $8,117.50). This set now sells for over $10K new and $7K used on the secondary market such as Ebay. total dimensions of sectional assembled together is approx. 110″ x 78 1/2″ , ottoman is approx. 34″ 24″ x 15″ high. in very good used condition

From a 2004 photo shoot with New York based fashion photographer Steven Klein, this is a never-before-seen original matte finish photographic print sent to Greg and signed by Klein. Item 24. ORIGINAL 2010 X-RAY OF GREG’S HAND AFTER HE “GROUND UP” SOME FINGERS WHILE WORKING ON A TABLE SAW Starting Bid: $250.00

Along with the above Klein photo we found the original X-Ray taken of his left hand after the famous “grinding” of his fingers during a wood working accident with a table saw. The doctors reattached the one finger that was completely detached and repaired the others after he drove himself to the ER. Greg produced a video on this incident turning it into a motivational moment. approx. 14″ x 11″ in excellent condition
